What is Your Life, Your Choice?
Your Life, Your Choice is a funding approach that gives people with a disability and their families to have greater choice and control over the disability services they choose to receive. This initiative will provide the framework for how self-directed support will operate in Queensland.
How does it work?
A person with a disability can now choose between services that are delivered through non-government service providers in the traditional way or choose to self-direct their supports using funding and resources to plan, purchase and select supports that best suit their needs.
Who can self direct their support?
Queenslanders with a disability who receive ongoing individualised funding from Disability Services and support needs that are considered stable, can choose to self-direct their supports with a host provider.
How can Ability Care help?
Ability Care, (Community Services Group Australia), is an approved service provider through disability services and works within a person-centered framework. We offer assistance, support and services in any way required for people with a disability and/or their families and carers.
This assistance can be provided to anyone aged 0-65 years, living in Brisbane Metro, Greater Brisbane, Logan, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Scenic Rim, Toowoomba, Lockyer Valley, Southern Downs, Townsville, Whitsunday Coast, North West Queensland, Tablelands and Far North Queensland.
